“She didn’t fear anyone enough to lie to him.”

A quote by Maya Angelou

in hallelujah! The Welcome Table.

When Order is maintained though fear,

The natural consequence

is for people to spend energy;

Removing suspicion,

Redirecting inquiry,

Covering up the impotence

Having no Power.

When Order is maintained through;

Welcoming others,

Communicating with each other,

Supporting each other,

Speaking up for each other,

Collaborating together

There is no Need for fear or lying

is where

It belongs.

rise table rise

as it levitates on end.

No one to know

just how or just when

levitation and energy

of my childhood would begin.

Rise table rise

with women surrounding,

rise table rise

…was ritual created not to end.

Betrayal takes form…

bending away from a source of pain.

Taking on new energy to leave and go on.

It changes and recreates like

a Halloween mask

Saying, no more for today,

immersed in the task.

Of redefining care and persuasion

when defining danger and necessary accommodation.

Damages take form…

recreated in scars

with no masks to tear

them away,

to only still see

The pain quite evident

in both

light and dark of day.

My paradigm defines

a perception of Space and time.

And if time says

I’m not here

Then the Space I have left will soon disappear.

And if time says

Go at it again.

Then the Space will spread out

to Encompass and Befriend.

And if time says

Turn and move this way

Then the Space will provide a

guiding Light

an Insight with which to display.

There are no deadly sins

or being human would be too hard.

It’s just easier for some

to have a religious list

By which to judge their actions mild.

There are no deadly sins

So bad they can’t be set aside

Or we could never experience life

with the free abandonment

To begin our passions as a child.

There are no deadly sins

Yet there IS one way to live.

You mother told you all along,

And with it, kept you from doing

too much in your life, too wrong.

There are no deadly sins,

which together can’t be fixed.

To live the Golden Rule is needed

To keep those we love safe and

in our Heart with all our garden paths weeded.

I look there.

I can’t seem to know

Just where in the heck

to go !!!

Just stay put

I don’t want my tail

in a hot spot.

never get it perfect…

we poke, we prod.

we pull, we yank.

we have magical thinking,

and think…

that just by thinking

what is in our mind…

will magically appear…

And sometimes…

It does!

I see shadows

in the dark of the moon.

Today is no different

The messages don’t appear

for a vision opportune.

I see shadows

in the dark of the moon

When perceptions dim,

and we can’t commune.

I see shadows in

the dark of the moon.

meanings pending,

slyly presented with

the chorus out of tune.

I see shadows

in the dark of the moon.

When the light finally appears

it will be none too soon.

to see around

the next corner

which doesn’t exist.

Bringing me back to my

Circular logic

To see the same thing in a

Different way.

The wives are lonely

the email message says

as neighbors create a modern garden fence,

Straying to the local grocery

for time to speak in private.

Begin a trek, with expectations.

“Is it just a signature?” she says.

A partnership with no definition

by partners left unsaid over time.

A void created with life being caught at the edge.

Unspoken promises not kept,

with the legal agreement remaining in place.

The wives are lonely,

the email message said.

Torn between now and coming

Wanting to learn to

Ignore what’s past.

Living in limbo

Imagining the future.

Grateful for the experience and

Harboring the hope

To soon be free.

The Divide

is a simple line.

foretold in other places.Bringing up the messiness

of the rage on inner faces.

If caring could solve all of those woes

We’d surely keep everything neat.

But the hurt in the hearts

Is felt over again

To sometimes signal retreat.

If the divide was fixed,

What would it take

To create the friendship anew?

If the divide was fixed

How would it look

Could it include more than just a simple few?

Fly away…

I would really like to go.

I want to go…

Speed up…speed down.

Am I not?

Take away time…

Take away space…

Return me to a comfort place.

A place of caring

A place of rest

Return again,

I want no further test.

Bring it carefree

bring me with it

Or fly away gone

because I always thought

Was meant for me.

Forgiveness is something…

which I do not understand.

It feels like I am being told to put aside the lights glaring in my eyes.

Ignore the pain, see something which isn’t there?

What is forgiveness?

Can you compare it to flowers growing, blooming and then dying?

So that something is just No More?

What is forgiveness?

Painting the emotions in a dampening fog?

So that sharp edges don’t puncture and hurt?

Or is it maybe a way in which people of cope

When we feel like everything has just become a house of cards?

She says I have it wrong…

But they’ve been that way

For ever so long.

I’ve had them there

And they’ve been wrong all along.

The colors reminding me of such a happy face.

I didn’t see until just now when you said,

“That house is on its side,

Like it’s going to bed.”

I don’t think I’ll change it

since I’m fond of the look

And some day when she’s famous

We’ll make it the cover of her book.

I try to pay attention…

but the clue is hard to see.

The difference in the colors, it was

Somehow was lost on me.

I looked a little closer and the red began to show.

I looked away and back again

to bring it in to view.

Then I knew I saw it,

And the color reminded me so very much

Of you…
