I would really like to have them all…

I tell myself I don’t need them all.

I don’t want them all…

and I know that’s not true.

They sputter and splatter

And leave a mess..

Yet…I want them all.

Straining, dripping, filling the compost

They sit and wait for winter freeze

To bring back the smell of cider,

While those we couldn’t reach lie in rot

Wasted.

I wish someone else wanted the same as I.

  1. Ooooh. I can only imagine the delightful smells in your home. Cider is my favorite harbinger of autumn. So glad you shared at Tuesdays Unwrapped.

  2. Oh, I would want them all, too. 🙂 I didn’t know anyone actually did anything with crabapples. Please share recipes???? Maybe then I can convince my husband they’re more than just a messy tree!

  3. (Because I would love to have one.)

  4. Oh, how cool to have a cider smell! I didn’t even realize those were crab apples. I thought they were cranberries at first… 🙂

  5. Mmm! Looks delicious and oh so fally! 🙂 Something I’m missing here in S. Cal. Haha!

  6. Cider is quintessential fall! I love this post and pray that the feel, sight, and scent of fall comes to Central Georgia for me sooner rather than later!

You can’t feel bad at all for wanting them all!

  7. I would want them all too… I would share them with the waxwings, however…

    • our waxswings eat the mountain ash berries come mid winter.

  8. One of my favorite parts of autumn, for sure!
